Can I use it outdoors?
Yes, we recommend putting it under a covered area like a patio or umbrella to protect it from the elements. If temperatures fall below freezing, you must move the chiller to a warmer environment.
SISU Plunge is equipped with an efficient filtration system designed to capture impurities and debris. Regularly changing the filter is essential to ensure its effectiveness. We recommend replacing the filter every 6 to 8 weeks to guarantee a continuous and reliable filtration process.

Even when faced with the challenging conditions of a Texas summer, maintaining the water temperature at a refreshing 43 degrees for an entire month only requires approximately 115 kWh of energy. Speed at which the SISU Plunge cools down upon initial fill-up depends on the initial water temperature. Typically, it takes 2 hours to lower water temperature from 75°F to 50°F. Subsequently, reaching a temperature of 40°F will require an additional 2 hours. It’s important to note that these timeframes may vary slightly based on external factors such as ambient temperature and humidity.
How do I take precautions to prepare my chiller for freezing weather?
- Power Down Your SISU Plunge Chiller: Ensure your chiller is safely powered down and disconnected from any power source.
- Drain your SISU Plunge: See our How to Drain your SISU video, please ensure you remove the brass coupling.
- Drain the Chiller: Remove the hoses from the chiller and tilt it so that gravity does the work and drains from the chiller. Open the side hatch on the chiller and remove the filter housing to drain out any remaining water.
- Storing: After the drainage is complete, store the chiller in a dry temperature-controlled room. Proper storage will help safeguard your chiller and ensure it’s ready for many more years of cold plunging.
